If any record has been masked or misunderstood by tradition, it seems to be the birth of Jesus Christ. It is amazing to me how many traditions mask the birth of Jesus Christ and what the Bible says about it. Meanwhile, God, through Scripture, has been trying to break through to us to teach us what really happened in the …
Take Stock Of Your Life
Dear Faithful One, This month The Living Truth Fellowship is concluding its thirteenth year of ministry. As I look back at all that God has done for us over the years, my heart overflows with thanksgiving. In this final newsletter for 2022, I would like to share my heart with you and say THANK YOU for all your love and …
Taming The Tongue
As Christians, we understand that we are involved in spiritual warfare. What we say takes on a significant role in how well we compete in this contest, for “life and death are in the power of the tongue.” In today’s teaching, we examine what scripture considers wholesome and honest communication, and what it considers destructive and misleading. We learn that, …
Sanctification (Part 3)
This is part 3 of a series by Mike Tomberlin on Sanctification: Principles Of Walking In The Spirit – the hows of making a constant, conscious, and personal relationship with Jesus Christ a reality in your life. We should be profoundly thankful we have holy spirit from God and can understand spiritual matters. God gave us new life through Jesus …
True Love Must Communicate
Dear Thanksgiver, We are quickly approaching the holiday season where families will gather together to spend time with loved ones. This is a special time of year that gives each of us an opportunity to be with and think about the people we love. On that note, think about the person you love the most. To what degree has heartfelt communication …
Enthroned at God’s Right Hand
God’s Word tells us of Jesus, who as a servant humbled himself to God’s will, was crucified, buried, resurrected and seated with God at his right hand, far above all principalities, power, mights and dominions. He was given a name which is above all names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, both in heaven and on …
Live As Light
We live in a culture that is driven by discontent instead of thankfulness. Being thankful illuminates God’s blessings in our lives and allows us to be strong in the Lord. Just as the Lord did for the Apostle Paul during his conversion, our Lord Jesus Christ is opening our eyes and turning us from darkness into light, from the power …
Fruit
“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.” (John 15:1-2) It is God’s desire that we bear much fruit. In fact, our fruitful walks glorify him. But to do …
God’s Mercy and Compassion
“Mercy triumphs over judgment.” As Jesus said to the Pharisees, “Go, learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’” God’s judgment is tempered by his mercy, the withholding of merited judgment. This was especially exemplified in the life of Jesus. In a culture full of criticism and accusation, mercy is a quality that God cultivates in his people.
The Choice to Rejoice
Let’s focus on JOY, the second fruit of the spirit listed in Galatians 5:22-23. You may have heard it said that “happiness” is dependent upon circumstances, but joy is “an inside job.” It is an inner delight, no matter one’s circumstances. How easy it is for us Christians to be emotionally dragged down by the preponderance of wickedness, tragedy, and …
