The Bible is the story of two Adams, each of which lives in every Christian. It is only by getting to know the Last Adam that we will truly get to know the First Adam and how his insidious sin nature relentlessly works against us. The Last Adam is the Savior from the sinful nature of the First Adam that dwells in us. It is only by trusting that the Last Adam has our back that we will boldly face the First Adam within us and honestly confront his sinful subtleties. The life of Christ was one long intervention—and it still is. You can take Jesus’ hand and let him lead you into and through the sin that “dwells” in you and afflicts you, for that is how he will heal you.
