Jesus Christ is “the image of God.” Why? Because he chose moment-by-moment to internalize the written Word of God and obey it to the letter. God is spirit, and it is Jesus who brings Him into concretion for mankind. Unless people come to His written Word, and to the Living Word, Jesus, they will make up things about God, and thus make up their own god. Named after his Father, Jesus is, in essence, “God, Jr.”, the one who faithfully made known the heart of God to the world. What distinguished him from all other men was his perfect trust in God, which was manifest in his perfect love for all men.
