If you think the whole Bible is written to you, here’s my question: “Did you kill a goat (I don’t mean with your car) the last time you sinned?” Of course not. Why? Because you understand that directive is in the Old Testament and no longer pertains to us today. Why not? Because God was speaking to Israel, long before Christians came into being in Acts 2 on the Day of Pentecost. Clearly, no one could be “born again of incorruptible seed” (1 Pet. 1:23–KJV) until after Jesus had lived a sinless life, died for our sins, been raised from the dead, ascended to the right hand of God, and poured out the holy spirit on Pentecost.
Perhaps the biggest reason why Christians today do not understand the Bible is that are “reading other people’s mail” and trying to live accordingly. 1 Corinthians 10:32 identifies the only three kinds of people who have ever lived: Jews, Gentiles (non-Jews), and Christians. Each part of the Bible is written to one of those groups of people—primarily either Jews (past, present, or future) or Christians (present or future).
Understanding this vital truth would eliminate the rampant misunderstanding regarding SALVATION (what is the New Birth), who a Christian is as a member of the Body of Christ, and End Times chronology (will Christians go through the Tribulation). Grasping this truth will also clarify such practices as water baptism, tithing, titles such as “Reverend,” “Bishop,” etc., and the so-called “clergy” (and their special clothing, including hats).
The greatest truth in the Bible is what God calls the “administration of God’s grace,” “the secret” (Eph. 3:2 and 3). 1 Corinthians 2:8 says that if Satan had known this divine secret, he would not have crucified Jesus Christ! Omigosh! What could that secret be?
This “Sacred Secret” is that after God raised him from the dead, Jesus Christ would diversify himself all over the world in a body of believers he would equip to do the same works that he did. The Devil would much rather face one Jesus on the corner of 12th Street and Vine in Jerusalem than face millions of Christians filled with the same spirit of God that Jesus had, and used to defeat him at every turn.
That is why Satan is doing all he can to blind Christians to the truth revealed in the Church Epistles, particularly Ephesians. He wants them stuck in the Old Testament or the Four Gospels or the book of Revelation, none of which is written to or about Christians.
Genesis through Malachi is written to and about people whose salvation was conditional, and the Four Gospels conclude what most people call the “Old Testament.” Because the Sacred Secret was “hidden in God” (Eph. 3:9), everything Jesus said prior to his resurrection was based on Genesis through Malachi, which he knew perfectly. He could not be talking to or about Christians because there was no such thing until after he lived, died, arose, ascended, and poured out the gift of holy spirit on Pentecost (Acts 2).
Our dynamic video presentation, “THE END TIMES,” lays out this entire topic by showing the “administrations” in Scripture from Paradise lost to Paradise regained, who you are in Christ, and what parts of Scripture are written TO YOU today. Understanding that will change your life. For more on this subject listen to this audio teachings: “Administrations in Scripture;” “The Purpose of the Ages;” and “‘In Your Face’ Christian Radio Talk Show – 04/2012,” where John talks, not only about “THE END TIMES” class but also cover the Administrations in Scripture. Also see our video teaching: “You’ve Got Mail!” We have an entire section, of articles, on this topic, which you can go to by clicking here: “Administrations” and here are a couple articles from this section: “The Birth of the Church;” and “Parts of the Bible That Are Written to You,” [For a chart on the administrations in Scripture, which is the Bible on one page, click here.] Also see our class: “One Day With The Creator,” Segment 15.
