Our human existence can be summed up in a few simple truths. We are made in the image of God. We have reasoning abilities far beyond any other creature on the planet. And unlike animals, we can make choices that shape our future. Every day, we make countless decisions—what time to get up, when and what to eat, which activities to pursue, and so on. In many ways, life is just a series of choices. From the smallest to the most significant, God has given us the freedom to choose.
Wouldn’t it be great if there were a way to make the right choice every time? I know that sounds impossible, but there is one who did exactly that: Jesus. When we look at the life of Jesus, we see a man who not only discovered but also taught a secret that anyone can learn—the secret of relying on the wisdom of God rather than our own reasoning as the foundation for our choices.
