John opens this teaching by talking about the first New York City Marathon he ran (1979), and how once he saw the sign saying THE FINISH LINE, the same legs that had, six miles earlier, scoffed at his command to keep running then responded readily, even to the point of what could charitably be called a sprint to the finish. For each Christian, THE FINISH LINE is the Appearing of Jesus Christ, when he catches us up to meet him in the air. The clearer your vision of that glorious day, the more motivated you will be to keep running the race until then. This teaching is a verse-by-verse exposition of 1 Corinthians 15, the classic chapter about Jesus Christ raising the dead. By the way, he is going to raise EVERYONE who ever lived, but at different times.
