Think about the contrast between a gray, gloomy day and a day with bright sunshine. Think about how wonderful it is to feel the warmth of the Sun on your face on a cold day. Now think about how the Sun, 93M miles from earth, shines through every crack and crevice and makes the air almost three-dimensional as it illumines every speck of dust in its beam.
Did you know that in His Word, God tells us that He has emblazoned in our solar system the message of the Fall and Redemption of mankind. Our Sun is the “Star of the Show,” celestially speaking, and the Word shows that it metaphorically represents Jesus Christ, the Star of God’s plan to save all those who choose to call upon his name. We English-speakers get the linguistic benefit of the “Son” / “Sun” homonym.
This teaching sets forth several sections of Scripture showing The Son/Sun metaphor, and how Satan wants to obscure Jesus Christ by putting up “storm clouds” that block people’s view of him. But for those determined to fix their gaze upon him, he always shines through the darkness and helps us manifest his light to others.
