Franco Bottley shared that prayer is not performance or simply asking God for things but a conversation that nurtures genuine fellowship with the Father. He encouraged believers to move past intimidation and misconceptions about prayer, seeing it instead as open communication that builds relationship with God just as communication is essential in all relationships. Prayer is not meant to move God closer to us — it is meant to move us closer to him.
He also emphasized prayer’s transformative power—helping overcome anxiety (Philippians 4), being led by the spirit (Romans 8), and becoming a daily habit of life (Ephesians 6). Drawing from Paul’s prayers in Ephesians and Colossians, Franco reminded listeners to focus on eternal realities, practice persistent prayer, and trust that the measure of a life of prayer is not how many of our requests are answered, but how deeply our hearts are conformed to the Father’s. Every prayer is a step closer to the Father, drawing us into deeper fellowship and greater trust in him.
