More Is Never Enough

In this practical and thought-provoking teaching, Rich Robson examines one of the most persistent temptations of the human heart—the desire for more. Beginning with Jesus’ warning in Luke 12 and the parable of the rich fool, Rich demonstrates that true abundance is not found in wealth, possessions, status, or security, but in a relationship with God. Through biblical examples such as the rich man with overflowing barns, Israel gathering manna in the wilderness, Adam and Eve in the Garden, and even Lucifer himself, Rich shows how the pursuit of “more” often leads to dissatisfaction, anxiety, and spiritual emptiness.

Drawing from Philippians 4, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and other passages, Rich contrasts greed with the biblical virtue of contentment. He explains that contentment is not natural—it is learned. The Apostle Paul learned how to abound and how to suffer need because his confidence was rooted in Christ rather than circumstances. Rich encourages believers to stop measuring life by what they possess and instead find peace in the sufficiency of God’s provision. Whether facing abundance or lack, Christians can experience genuine joy and stability because Christ strengthens them to endure every situation.

The teaching concludes by lifting the listener’s eyes beyond the temporary treasures of this world to the eternal inheritance reserved for God’s children. Rich reminds us that everything earthly is ultimately fleeting, but the hope secured through the resurrection of Jesus Christ is incorruptible, undefiled, and everlasting. The central message is both simple and profound: more possessions will never satisfy the human heart, but a life anchored in God and empowered by Jesus Christ provides everything we truly need.
